I'm in LA, B

T minus 7 hours til I take off for New Zealand, which I'm pretty sure will be just about the opposite of LA. Mike Prince has been the ultimate host, and I am in his room eating his BBQ chip stash (Mike you'll read this after I'm gone - yes, that was me, sorry man) and testing out this blogger thing.

Feeling a little self-conscious about terming myself a blogger. A travelogue sounds obnoxious - I ain't no poofter (New Zealand term for "intellectually pretentious person"). After many years in Boston and then in Seattle, I've had my fill of the poofties and am thrilled that the kiwis have a special term for this.

So equal parts AHHHH (scared) and HAHAHA (thrilled/liberated) do I depart for a 13-hour plane ride to parts unknown. I'm grateful for all the love I collected in the Bean and back in Seatown before this pit-stop in LAla-land, and carry it with me to Down the F Under. Til then!
