Ferg Loves You

A brief yo before I take a needed rest from so much screen time. Skipped the tainted flight to Welly today, since I'm so close to Queenstown and must go see ma familia at Fergbuger. My old street paper compadre Randy hipped me to this place before I left for NZ and it's stayed quite high on the short list.

We never stop learning about ourselves. After a day of too much research and travel-luxury-agonizing, I learned that I would rather spend my money on underwear and armbands than see one of the world's most famous glaciers.

After my next few days in Queenstown (including a tour of Milford Sound - holy cow could anything look more beautiful?!), I was deliberating tacking on some days, long bus rides, expenses -- and was even willing to miss out on going out dancing with Mandi and Gemma on Saturday because I wouldn't make it to Wellington by then -- so that I could see the Franz Josef glacier, maybe touch some ice and remember what winter feels like. Then I'd have to throw down again to take the train over the alps to cross the island and go back to Ch'ch, and, finally, Welly (to WWOOF again at the bloob farm before heading to Tonga). I figured the bill would be worth the experience.

And then I saw the merchandise page at Fergburger. And the dilemma of where to spend my money was solved! I love nature and all, but I've seen a lot of it here. I'll probably get to see a glacier one day, but where else will I buy my lifetime supply of "Ferg Loves You" underwear?

Gotta run - the crew at my backpackers are going to a "What would you do to win a free $400 tattoo?" contest at a local bar. I plan to enter. I'm told people get naked - nbd - and what level it goes to from there I cannot wait to see.

  4. holy shit- a few days go by or maybe a week without reading and so much happens... as is life on the road- living day by day
can't wait to see you in Cali!
maybe with a 400$ tattoo you can get the island outline- a memory that is probably looking quite tame in hindsight...
enjoy it all- as you are!

  5. Thanks LD! I cannot wait to see you in Cali too, it'll be BOMB! There's a woman on my first Tongan farm that's a bit your doppleganger, it's crazy, and is making me smile.
