In case I need to be warned of a sudden approaching hole in our space-time continuum or any such, here's where I'll be at for the next 6 days:
Waiheke Island
Sounds like it'll be real sweet:
"Beautiful peaceful property with big sea views. Your self contained caravan is private, sheltered & sunny and set amongst fruit trees and veggie gardens. Lovely bush and beach walks. 10 mins walk to stunning beach with great swimming. Jobs vary from gardening to handywork.
"Organic Principles: bokashi, permarculture, composting, beekeeping. Waiheke island is 35mins by ferry from downtown Auckland. Waiheke is a popular place for artists and musicians with cafes and galleries and over 30 vineyards. Waiheke has a wonderful community spirit with community gardens and orchards. We enjoy meeting travellers from around the world. Enjoy a game of cards, guitar and singing, walks along the beach."
So I think my biggest threat is that someone will actually pull out a guitar and sing (unless you are Joni Mitchell, you should not do this).
Speaking of bad music, the sweatlodge was amazing, though the group singing got to me after 3+ hours. Despite that and the horrific pain in my already-bad back from sitting still and unsupported for so long, it was well worth it. I will somehow find the time to chronicle my Sufi, Tongan, and other insofar-undocumented adventures in these last 2 weeks and 5 days of my time upsidedown; when I reemerge rightsideup, I will presto-chango become blogless again. Very much looking forward to having telephone and in-person relationships with you all, where I get to hear your stories in equal return to my own.
